Once thing I have noticed about the G11, you better nail the exposure. If you under expose the shot. You will have a hard time salvaging the photo. Under bright sunny conditions keep an eye on the histogram. Dial in some exposure compensation, or use it in manual mode.
I do like the manual functions on the G11. The flash can be set to high, med, low. Combine this with manual exposure you can nail good flash pictures. That if you don't mind the on camera flash. The flash works well when using it for just a touch of fill. I do use my Canon 580EX flash, and the Canon off camera flash cable. I've also used the G11 with my pocket wizards. But, if I'm going to lug around pocket wizards and my flash gear. I may as well lug my DSLR.
Now I want to check out some of the 4/3 cameras.
